Over the course of 9 weeks a small group of creative young people gathered at "CityGate" in Lancaster to explore their creativity. There were on average 7 participants per session, exploring various aspects of themselves using portions of the "Justice Creates" curriculum as well as different sessions about pencil drawing techniques. Next to Ralph who facilitated the class, it was exciting to have a guest artist come in, Jeff Maisonneuve, for a lesson about human body sketching. It is always amazing to see the beautiful results that come out of the most simple ingredients: ink wash, magazine images, paint, crayons. One of the participants put it like this: "We had a wonderfully enriching time at the Tuesday art class. Our family had been through a traumatic experience in Africa. This class was not only a safe place for expressing ourselves creatively but also very healing. (..) With the compassion and direction of Ralph the teacher we learned a variety of different mediums that we can apply in all our future art experiences." Stay connected to hear about the next class! In the meantime, don't be afraid to create space for your own creativity - with or without the help of justcreate.space !
